Accused Harasser Inquired: 'However Imagine I Am Madeleine?'
A individual accused with pursuing Kate McCann reportedly deposited her a recorded message which posed: "suppose I am Madeleine?"
The defendant, 24, who court testimony revealed has consistently asserted she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are standing trial indicted with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February this year.
On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and evidence obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt repeatedly demanding Madeleine's mother for a biological test over 2023 and 2024.
Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most publicized investigations and remains open.
'I Don't Want Money'
Another recorded message, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm fat and unattractive like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I believe."
While one recording of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? Then what? Wouldn't that be crucial for you?"
"I am not seeking money, I have a life here in Poland, I only wish to understand," the message continued.
The tribunal was informed that by means of electronic messages, SMS messages and calls, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, forwarded childhood photos to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.
An intelligence analyst, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who gathered the information, told the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt also contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.
On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."
On that occasion Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail stating "I will continue and I will prove my point."
The court learned Mrs Spragg struck up a relationship online with Ms Wandelt prior to accompanying her on a visit to the McCanns' property in that area in December 2024.
Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had reached out using communication app to Mrs McCann to express the press had characterized Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the time preceding the trip to Rothley, the county, in that winter.
The court learned correspondence between the two defendants, in that autumn, considering trying to acquire Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from cutlery at a eating establishment.
"We have to take action," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.
On the evening of the appearance to their house, Mrs Spragg sent a message which stated: "We're currently sitting near the McCanns' house with our lights out similar to detectives. I wanted to do this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be involved in this with the McCanns."
The proceedings continues.
