Barça to Host First Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga 30 months since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
